Help Desk

  1. I am a novice at this and am having a difficult time finding the new help desk - how do I let the help desk know that I have a problem. I tried to follow the directions that you stated but it's too difficult - why don't you just have a help desk button like before for people like me who are not computer savy as the rest of you. I need to open a ticket - can someone get me to the right spot...my webstie is running very slow and I need to know if there is something going on with the server or if it is on my end. Thanks.

    The new Support Portal is located at https://support.discountasp.net
    - In our website, there is a link to the Support page on every page of our site: http://discountasp.net/support.aspx
    - You will find a link to the Support Portal.

    If this is the first time you are using the Support Portal, we need to authenticate via an email verification before you can access the Create/View tickets section of the Support Portal. There are two ways you can get the verification email sent to you
    - Log into the control panel at https://my.discountasp.net and navigate to the Support section and follow the instructions
    -Log into your Support Portal (using the same user/pass of the conrol panel) and clicking on the "My Settings" link in the portal, and clicking the "Re-send verification email" button.

    I know it's inconvenient to start but this is a much improved helpdesk system than the one we had before. All helpdesks are different and we and customers have to adapt to it, rather than force it to look/act like something it was not built for.

    And if using the Support Portal is still problematic, you can still submit tickets to support and billing directly via email and bypass the portal just like before, but those direct email tickets will not be available in a ticket history in the Support Portal.

  3. Thanks. That helped....now the only problem is that the authorization will go to my web designer because that is how we set it up..I put an alternative email of :[email protected] which is mine...is there a way that the ticket info could get copied to me also?
     
  4. ok - so how do I contact the help desk through email - what is the email that I need to send my message to... I don't see a "contact us" tab ..? Sorry I'm such a novice but I will learn as we go and hopefully not have to bother you again. Thanks for your help.

    No, the verification email cannot be sent to the alternative email. If this is problematic, then I would suggest just emailing us directly.
