History and Backups

  1. We have a few years worth of history in TFS2005. Can this be imported? If so, is that an extra cost? Is that something we would do or would that be done by your staff?

    Also, if we need to restore, is that possible? Do we have access to the daily backups to do this or do we submit a ticket?

    Importing is possible, yes. But there are a lot of potential conflicts between TFS versions, etc. Your best bet would be to open an account and give it a try (it's free for 30 days). Support will have an import checklist they can send you to get started.

    There are daily database backups, but not (yet) an automated system to retrieve them. You can request one backup a month, and after that there is a fee per backup request. I don't know when (if?) an automated backup retrieval system will be added. TFS databases tend to get quite large which complicates the process.
