Im new here, im thinking about hosting here at discountasp.net but im confuse on about the IIS versions. I tried to sign up and they have IIS 6.0 and 7, but im using windows xp, which uses IIS 5.1. Does that even matter?? Or does that mean i cant host it here. Can someone explain to me what that is. Also, i just want to host it for a month, is there a plan like that or do i have to stick with a yearly plan?
It depends on what web application you are planning to upload to your sites. Is your application using ASP.NET 1.1? ASP.NET 2.0+? We do not have a monthly plan. We have a quarterly or annual plan.
...If you want .02 cents from the bleachers; Go with IIS7 because you have more control and you get more overall. IIS7 servers are loaded with features and are more robust. On your end testing pages against the remote site is not difficult. It may be better to test locally but even then "It works on my PC" doesn't always fly. My advice, go with IIS7. All the best, Mark
If .NET 4, you have to be on our Windows 2008 platform with IIS7. And this platform provides a LOT more features and control over IIS6.
How do i get to the quarterly plan. Everytime i try to sign up, always take me to the yearly plan. I would like to test it out for only a month or so before deciding to contiue on or not.
Nvm i found it but another quesiton, for the quarterly plan, that means that the term ends at the end of the quarter, so if i want to extend it, i would have to renew it? Or does it automatically renew after the quarter ends?
