  1. I just started using DiscountASP.net and I'm wondering what I have to do to host multiple domains. Do I add them through the initial account I set up for the first domain or do I have to create separate accounts with separate logins for each new domain I want to host?

It depends on what you would like to do. Are these domains separate websites or do you want the domains to resolve to the same site? (i.e. http://siteA.com is the same as http://siteB.com)

  3. They are separate websites. Some may use the same database, but other than that completely separate.

Although it's possible to host multiple websites on a single account, we recommend hosting each website on different accounts so that they benefit from an isolated application pool. Email accounts are also included with each hosting account.

If you still want to host multiple websites on a single hosting account, you will need to order domain pointers, programmatically redirect the requests to a subdirectory, and use something like URL Rewrite to clean up the URL's so that they appear to be separate websites. The drawback is that you have reduced resources since they are shared between sites and errors on one website may impact the availability of others.

  5. Sounds like it's much better to host them in separate accounts so that's what I'll do. Thanks for the info.
