  1. Hi,

    First post here. /emoticons/smile.gif Question?

I currently have working services hosted at another domain (php/MySQL based services) that I do not want to move or refactor here at discountasp.net I have read through the service offerings at discountASP that you can purchase

    <ul>[*]unlimited subdomains
[*]these domains use a static IP
    [*]the service is $5.00/month
    [/list]

As an IT guy, I know on IIS it is possible to specify a host header using (sub.mydomain.com) as a second level (or subdomain) name for a virtual server and assign a specific static IP address for that subdomain/virtual server. Accessing the URL (sub.mydomain.com) is no problem under these circumstances even with the primary/root domain hosted elsewhere as long as DNS is set up properly and points to the static IP.

Can this be done here at discountasp.net??? Will you allow DNS to route a subdomain to your static IP's if the above services are purchased?

The DNS host does allow me to route subdomains to any IP address. I can easily setup (sub.mydomain.com) to point to discountasp.net's Static IP for my account here... if/when I set it up.

    Thanks

From my understanding of your question, you wish to keep your domain hosted elsewhere and you want to sign up a subdomain with DiscountASP.NET. You can sign up on our order form (https://www.discountasp.net/signup)using the "use existing domain" option and type in the subdomain, ignoring the "www" in front of the textbox.
