how many sites per server?

    Very interesting post - http://blogs.zdnet.com/BTL/?p=3561&tag=nl.e622- re Joe Lieberman's web site crash. Everyone is pinning the blame on his use of a shared hosting service ("you get what you pay for...").

    Anyway, somehow they determined the server his site was on had 73 other web sites...

    -How can someonefind out how many sites are on a server?
    - Does DASP havean "account/sites per server" limit?
    -I noticed on the web site the servers use RAID disks. What other redundant features do the servers have?
    - If a server fails or needs to be taken off-line, will my site be transfered to another sever? If yes, how much down-time?

    We do not have a hard limit on how many sites we host per server. We have a special algorithm that takes server health (CPU/Memory, etc.) and total # of sites to determine if we continue to provision site to our server.

    In general, our servers will not run with more than 40% CPU time.

    One very special feature we have is that we host each website on its own process and the servers are configured to limit each site's resource usage.

    Historically, our server's uptime is over 99.9%.
