How to create password protected subfolder in my FTP client?

Good Days,

I want to create a subfolder named as Misc in my root folder, and I want to protect it with Username and Password in my FTP client which means the pages and documents in the Misc folder will be open to anyone when they are viewed through the browser but I will be the only one who will be able to upload (update, delete, rename, etc.) any documents or pages to that folder in any FTP client.

Is it something that I can do by using any control panel in my DiscountASP account website? If not, what is the procedure to accomplish something like this?
