Sir could please advise me, I just new in my.discountasp.net, now there is an existing website of my friend hosted by my.discountasp.net and he requested me to edit the some information there.. what Is the procedure to do to let me able to edit the website?
It really depends on what kind of website it is. Is it a DotNetNuke or WordPress installation that has a administrative back end that allows you to edit content in the live site? Or is a custom site built from the ground up as a collection of files? If there is not content management system aspect of your site installed then you will need to edit the site files on your local system, and then upload the modified files back to your hosting space in order to overwrite the old copies, thereby updating your site. For downloading and uploading site files I suggest FTP, specifically FileZilla. Then open the file using your favorite editor, Notepad, ConTEXT, Visual Studio, and Web Matrix all work. Edit the file as desired and then save it. Finally, upload the editing file back to your hosting space and overwrite the old version of that file.
