  1. I'm following the steps in theQ10382 Knowledge Base article to install DNN (4.8.2). The article recommends using a fresh database. Is there a way to take a previously well-used SQL Server 2005 database and make it fresh, or do I need to add a new one to my account?

    Thanks.

  2. I always recommend creating a backup before you use your account DB, then keeping it for this purpose.

Rather than dropping all the objects and tables you might try creating a support ticket.
Ask the DASP crew if they can drop and recreate the DB in your account.

  4. Lot's of progress, but not quite there. Tech support was great and refreshed the database, which I immediately backed up as suggested by Mark. The installation thenlooked successfulup to having the initial site running. I can log on as host or admin and manage accounts and add modules to the home page. However I cannot add new portals or new pages - trying to just returns the same page I was on. No error message, just back to the same page.

Or any ideas on how to troubleshoot?

    Thanks.

  5. Maybe a reference in the root web.config?

  6. Hey, that was it! There was an old web.config file sitting in the root which I forgot about andno longer needed - I got rid of it and the DNN installation works perfectly now. Thanks!
