How to send automated emails

I wish to do a scenario, where i need to send automated emails to a group of people when some one has registered on my website/added a new request when approved.

Any email application should work. You simply need to define the condition and based off that call the applicaiton to send out the email. Web forms are ofent good in doing what you're looking for. You may want to look at this link for some introduction to asp.net web forms.
