  1. Hi

I have PDF files on my computer and would like to upload them on my site so that, for example, when I click on a button or thumbnail image that I have created in one of the modules, it will open the PDF file for viewing online.

How do I do that? kindly advise

    Thanks

  2. simply link the thumbnail to the .pdf file itself. Most of the browsers will open a new window and read it

  3. Hi

Thanks for your response. I meant how can I upload the file to the web, with a URL, for viewing online.

For example, in one module on my site, I uploaded the PDF file from my documents, but it does not have a URL link. So clicking it online by a user will not link to the document.

    Kindly advise

  4. Okay, I'm really at lost here. You're just trying to show a .pdf file on your site right? like a link on your site which open a new window that open the .pdf file?

simply upload the .pdf file to your FTP site, and record the path
e.g if you upload it to a directory named 'documents' in your FTP site, the URL/Link for that file is

    /documents/YOURPDF.pdf

make a text hyperlink on your main site/anywhere within the site to that file and you should be able to 'view online' after that

  5. Thanks for your reply and sorry for the confusion. As I am still learning how to upload files on to my FTP site, making a text hyperlink and all that, I have come to realize I do not know how to do all that, any video tutorial you recommend?

My ftp site url is ftp://ftp.advancedped.web704.discountasp.net/

    I appreciate your help.
