I have not found a way to be able to connect VS2005 directly to the Report Server

I have not found a way to be able to connect VS2005 directly to the Report Server to facilitate a simple method of creating Reports. The Report Manager does not offer a robust tool for creating reports with ANY complexity. If I set up a new Project in VS2005, I am unable to deploy to DASP RS. If I use the UPLOAD feature of the Report Manger on DASP to upload a report I created in VS2005, it tells me the Datasource is not available.

I have searched the KB and Forums. I have not found anything that solves my dilemma.

I have tried with both scenarios.


For scenario #1, the dataset/report modeldoes not match. I have not found a way to use the remote dataset/model stored on the server.


For scenario #2, I am never asked for a username or password, consequently I get an error of access denied.
