Is it possible to setup an individual subdomain (as opposed to the unlimited subdomains addon) using an A or CNAME record in the DNS setting without the unique IP addon? There is already one setup by default (www) but I receive an error when I try to create another.
Do you mean you want to set up an A record to point to another IP address outside of our network? Or do you want to point another hostname to your site hosted here? Bruce DiscountASP.NET www.DiscountASP.NET
I mean I would like to point a subdomain of my primary domain to my site hosted here. So if my primary domain is website.com, I would like to point sub.website.com to the same site utilizing an A record. This is already set up for the www subdomain. Can I do it for another subdomain just as it works for www?
If you want to point a subdomain to the same site, thenyou need toget the Unlimited Subdomain addon. Aristotle DiscountASP.NET www.DiscountASP.NET
The reason why you need the addon is because, the basic hosting service uses Shared IP and the server is only configured to recognize your domain name. With the addon, your site will get a unique IP address. Bruce DiscountASP.NET www.DiscountASP.NET
