Ok, at the risk of sounding really really dumb, and having tried to find the answer everywhere I can think of.... I have to ask: Where can I download IIS7? I really want to upgrade my DASP website to IIS7 for obvious reasons... All the documentation says 'Install IIS7' as if everyone has the software on hand... well, I don't! I want to install it on my development PC and do some testing. My environment is XP Professional with VS 2008 Professional.
Thank-you for the info. Ugh. So I would have to install Vista to run IIS7 web server in my test environment???? Well, I am NOT going to install Vista!
You can access the remote IIS7 server from Windows XP but you do need Vista SP1 or WS2008 to run IIS7. Vista SP1 runs great for me, love it.
Yup. I know that now... The problem is that I need all the CPU/Memory I can get on my XP Pro development laptop. I have a business to build. Installing Vista would eat up resources unnecessarily. Even SQL Server 2008 will run on XP. Don't know why they made the mistake of limiting IIS7 to Vista... doesn't make sense to me. Post Edited (FlyTheBlueSky) : 6/29/2008 9:56:31 PM GMT
