installing VS 2008 web application at host

  1. Hi I am trying install my VS 2008 web application (not web site) at DASP. I'd like it to be installed in the root but when I publish the application from Visual Studio 2008 (Build/Publish) via ftp. I only get the dll and and gobal.asax file uploaded. None of the aspx files or webconfig are automatically uploaded?

    If i copy the files up via ftp and try to run the app I get "webpage not available"
    "Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): Unknown error."

    I have looked at the KB article
    http://support.discountasp.net/KB/a...ual-studio-20082005-visual-web-developer.aspx

    but it does not apply, seems to be only for "web sites" not "web applications".

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Is it a precompiled web application? The term web site and web applictions are used interchangeably. Generally speeking your web application is your web site.

    Tell us if your web application is precompile and let us know what hosting platform your account is on. Is it IIS 6 or IIS 7?
