intermittant (yet too frequent) database failure

    cragi

    my database is located on mssql05 and I am frequently getting database failures. The search will work about 95% of the time, but other times, the exact same search, with the same criteria entered and no change to the database fails! This is maddening and right now the database (no other part of the site has been hanging for over an hour)! Please advise.
