IP and/or domain name to resolve to application directory

Discussion in 'Windows / IIS' started by davidwachtel, Dec 10, 2008.

  1. I want to have my alternate IP address or my site e.g. www.mysite.com resolve directly to my application directory.

I'm a new customer and was surprised that Tech Supportwere not able to give more help than suggest I would need to write a script and that I should post in these forums to resolve this issue.

I'd appreciate some guidance and/or alternatives. My application is dependent on these links resolving to the root of the application.

    - Thanks

  2. Yes - I now realize that and have set my app up accordingly. Thanks.

Why not just move your application to the site root? Wouldn't that be simpler?

  4. Can I do that? I was not able to create an app in the root dir using the web tool.

  5. The root is always configured as a web application. That is why you cant configure it to be one... It already/always is.
