Is this normal for AJAX-enabled pages?

Hi.

I am using ASP.NET AJAX on my website, and have noticed that on one of my AJAX-enabled pages, it seems to take some time to load up; there is a noticeable delay of a few seconds in loading the page. Is this normal for AJAX-enabled pages?

Any ideas as to why this is? How would I improve the page load performance time?

On another page which is not AJAX-enabled, it seems to load much more rapidly (http://www.kiranc.co.uk/portfolio). Why is this?
