I would like to know if this is possible through Discountasp? (www.urlrewriting.net) Thx in advance, Robbin
I have not tried it myself but I've seen some customer using this. Just curious, why not use the built in URL rewrite module.
Well perhaps it is just me being utterly slow, but I simply do NOT understand how to get it done with the URL rewrite module. I've spend hours now trying to figure out how to get it done. With the virtual URL rewriting I spend about 5 min to configure my url-rewrites in my web.config and it's done. I tried it and uploaded it, but it didn't seem to work. I just got the error the page was not found. And about the URL rewrite module, is it not just possible to add url-rewrite rules to your web.config without having to do anything by the IIS manager ? Caus it's pain getting it done (atleast in the way I understood it to be)
Are you on IIS 6 or 7? If you are on IIS 6 or using classic mode on IIS7, you'll need to setup a wildcard mapping to point to asp.net. IIS6: contact support
Did you perhaps change something? Because for some very rare and unknow reason, now the virtual URL rewriting is working.^-^ Anyways, wether you did or didn't change something, THX
Ah never mind, it's not working ... It was redirecting to my 404 error page, which made me think it was working ... Dunno what IIS version it is, can't seem to find it in the IIS tools
