  1. I am porting some ASP code to .Net and am getting a compilation error on this code:

    if IsObject(MM_news_STRING) then
    MM_news_STRING.Close
    MM_news_STRING=Nothing

    I'm getting "BC30451: Name 'IsObject' is not declared."

    What I want to do is see if MM_news_STRING is an object then close and destroy it. This works fine in ASP (I only remove "set" in line 3 for .net). Can anyone tell me why this is causing an error?

    I don't think this function exists in .NET

    Try

    IsNothing(MM_news_STRING)
