Issues Installing DNN

  1. Hi could anyone assist with DNN install.

    I've loaded all files into a directory off the root called \DNN with modified web.config file.

    When I run the install I get the following error??

    Server Error in '/' Application.

    Configuration Error

    Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.

    Parser Error Message: It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS.

    configure the /dnn directory as an application root in the web application tool in the hosting control panel.
     
  3. Hey Bruce - next error.. the missing file is sitting in \DNN\bin

    You could try installing it using the Web Application Gallery in Control Panel.

    Just specify the /dnn directory and the installer will overwrite the files you've uploaded and do a new installation from scratch.
