Log files past 30 days?

Discussion in 'Suggestions and Feedback' started by jdcrutchley, Aug 5, 2008.

  1. Is there any possibility of having the raw log files saved for more than 30 days? Not even much more... Maybe just like 31 so a whole month is there. Would make it easier to script automated monthly stats stuff...

Unfortunately, we cannot do that on a per domain basis.

You can consider automate the download of the log.

  3. I didn't mean on a per-domain basis - I meant across the board. If you kept 31 days worth of logs our automated solutions only have to run on the 1st of every month. :)

  4. Jamie,
You can find some snazzy log projects that will give you some control over this.
Check http://codeplex.com there should be a few ASP.NET raw log readers.
Then you could for example create your own data records and refer back on them when needed.

This will be difficult because of disk space issue. I think 30 days of log retention is on the generous side for most hosters already.
