  1. I'm sorry to ask this because I can;t help feeling that I should have managed to find it myself somewhere, but I have tried and looked through this forum, but just can't find a working front end for MSSQL 2005.

Connection strings in code I have no problem with, the example given on this site worked without a problem. So I can create tables and execute sql statements.

But what I thought I would be able to do is use a front end particularly as I have no experience of the other object types that MS SQL offers, such as it's views. I haven't access to a local MS SQL server so don't have what ever tools comes with that. But I am working on XP pro with iis running, if thataids inthe choice.

I have MS Access 2003, but although it connects tomy discountasp.net MS SQL, and I can view what is already there, it says as it opens that my version will not work with MS SQL newer than 2000. I tried updates but that problem is the same. It will not let me carry on and create tables, viewsetc.

If I try using VWD, again it connects but on attempts to create anything except a query I get 'This is not supported on VWD express'.

Then I tried Visual Developer 2003, I can only create SQL statements no other objects.

So, what do you lot use?

I am happy to create tables and queris in sql, it's the way I've always had to do it anyway, except for occasional plays with phpadmin for mysql. But MS SQL offers so much more than MySQL that I can't help feeling you must have found a front end that gives you proper development access.
