   hi, I do not have a sql server 2000. So I wonder how I can use MSDE to manage the remote server. The first thing how to transfer database to and from the server

   You can technically use osql to import / export data but it is very difficult.
   
   I suggest you at get the SQL client installed on your computer. See http://kb.discountasp.net/article.aspx?id=10064
