Multiple Front End Sites And 1 MS SQL Database????

Discussion in 'ASP.NET WebServices' started by corella, Jul 26, 2004.

  1. Hello all ,

I am currently hoping to set up 20-30 front end websites (all in ASP.net of course) and interface them with one large, MS SQL 2000 database.

I Know that discount ASP.net offers MS SQL 2000 hosting plans separate from their front end ASP.net hosting plans but the question is this:

Are all the front end hosting plans automatically compatible with MS SQL or do I have to pay some sort of surcharge per site that is connected to my big MS SQL 2000 database to allow for connectivity?

Furthermore, does anyone have any idea as to how large a database might be that is interfacing with 20-30 sites? I am creating about 30 different vendor websites with shopping carts and all the basic e-commerce elements. I will be storing all product JPEG images on the fron end storage disk and strictly back end values on the db. Any help would be greatly appreciated. To give you an idea of how large these sites are they will suffice with about 30 MB easily.

    Thanks in Advance.
