Hi, Can you give me any idea as to when our hosting account at DiscountASP will be compatible with3.5 SP1?
No ETA yet. We are in the process of thoroughly testing it. Once SP1 upgrade is installed, will we have to do anything on the control panel to upgrade? IOW, if we have a new version that uses SP1 dynamic Data, for example, can we just upload it? (any idea on timetable yet?) Thanks, Paolo
No. You do not need to change anything in the CP after the upgrade. We are still working on the deployment script. I can't commit to any definitive timeline but it should be within the next couple weeks. Bruce DiscountASP.NET www.DiscountASP.NET
Same here. I have an account elsewhere, but we use DASP at work and I've been very pleased with it. I'd go through the headache of getting everything set up on DASP if I see a technical reason to do so, and 3.5 SP1 would certainly be such a reason. Hope you can get something done soon as the timing of my renewal at the other place is coming due quickly.
We are still waiting for Microsoft to include SP1 in Windows Update service (which we use to deploy the fix to all servers automatically). In general, MSFT is usually very quick to put new updated to Windows Update service. Not really sure what's the hold up here since SP1 has been released for close to a month. If we don't see the update release by next week, we'll perform manual installation. Bruce DiscountASP.NET www.DiscountASP.NET
Thanks, this gives me something to work toward as a target If anything changes please drop a note, I just need to plan around whatever the DASP plan is with this
Hey Bruce, Disregard my other post regarding missing .dll's as this will fix my assembly woes. All the same, "next week" is now "this week". Are you still on-track to install this week and any early indications as to what day? -Ken
Cross-posted in my other thread but: Ok, so I figured out how to make my project work. Basically, I downloaded the MVC Preview 5 and placed the installed 4 .dlls into my Bin folder. I then read the version documentation and made the changes in the Webconfig file as instructed. After rebuilding and reuploading to the DASP server, I'm in business. Just wanted to update for those who might still be having difficulties. -Ken
