New Domain Question...

I have a 2 domain names - one for an established site and one for an alternative name for the site. I'd like to have the new (alternative) name automatically direct the user to the established (original) site...can I do this without having to host the new domain? I understand the response.redirect option to send the user to the other domain...but that would require hosting the simple HTML page. Is another option available? Any help would be appreciated...

You can get the domain pointer addon to your account which will point that domain to the root directory of your account. Log into your discountasp control panel and under Addon Manager request for that addon. There are some restrictions to the domain pointer.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT DOMAIN POINTERS:
1. The Root Domain Pointer addon has a one time setup fee of $15 per domain name.
2. This addon will point additional domain name(s) to the root of your primary hosted domain.
3. Domain pointers DO NOT come with email service.
4. We DO NOT point additional domains to subdirectories.
5. This IS NOT a Domain Registration System.
6. Customer is responsible for registering any available Domain Name(s) submitted.
7. Root domain pointers are NOT instantly activated.
