Hmm. Calling IE8 the "final nail in the coffin" of anything is kind of wishful thinking, isn't it? Considering it will take at least five years to get everyone who is using IE6 now "updated" to IE8. As long as you have to accommodate the beast that refuses to die - er, IE6 - there will be no joy in webville.
I'm a big fan of the IE Team and I do keep testing for them but I agree IE6 is like a virus. It causes as much pain for mebeing a Technical Evangelist as SQL Express always did up until version 2008. So yes I am hoping IE8 will be embracedmy many, especially IE6 users. One of the Webcasts I'm working on, should have it done by tomorrow, is for images. Hardly anything causes Web page problems like fixing PNG transparency in IE6. In the Webcast I'm covering many aspects, with Expression Blend and Design and a secret feature of Expression Web. Well it seems to be a secret that Expression Web can create transparency in existing GIF's. But then that's where the IE6 issues come in because we need to be using PNG for that anyway. < Good chat /> Technical Evangelist for DiscountASP.NET http://www.iis7test.com/webcasts/ http://weblogs.asp.net/markwisecarver/ http://blogs.windowsclient.net/wisecarver/default.aspx
