NEW TFS Pricing per user. Way toooo pricey...

    $20 / per user / month is way toooooo pricey.
    could have been something less than the SQL kind of pricing / month
    around $5 to $10 ish...

    Just a thought.

    Compared to what?

    There are not a lot of hosted TFS solutions out there in our price range. Most are considerably more expensive.

    Hosted TFS used to cost over $50 per user per month.

    When we work with Microsoft's TFS team, they actually thinks we are pricing it too low.

    Note that we have to pay MSFT on a per user basis. We would lose money if we price it at the price point you suggested (license fee + support + server, etc.)

    Actually pricing is very good IMHO. Remember you are getting access for anywhere, without having to setup a system or manage security.

    I my case I'm a small shop and I can add users for projects then remove them later when it complete.

    I understand in a world where the Express versions are free as are a lot of the other tools $20 a month might seem expensive but IF you were a independent truck driver you'd need to buy and maintain a truck (g).

    Good points. I think a lot of people may underestimate what is involved in setting up and maintaining TFS. Especially outside of an intranet.
