Noob needs help...

I'm new to web design and I'm trying to design a page that will use the php community forum thingie. Anyhow as the title of this suggests, I do not know what I am doing. can any of you please walk me through how to get php onto the site and soforth. Details PLZ I am very dense. Thank you all. (or if you think I should use a different one plz let me know)
