  1. One of the sites I used to host with Discountasp.net was a largeGame AI coding community.
Idonated my site to the George Brown College of Game Design in Canada a few weeks ago.
They already had an account with another Host I won't mention, simply not worth startingtrouble.

At any rate, with this other host it took 2 weeks to get the site working, with the existing code thatran greathere.
This couldn't have been more frustrating. For the College and for me.

I could have had the same site working with Discountasp.net in a matter of hours.
The college chose this other host simply because they had such a low yearly fee.
I'm fairly sure they will choose Discountasp.net in the future. [IMG]

This other host has been in some hot water recently for allowing SQL Server Express to be used live.
They flipped the switch off for their existing customers and word is they're going to charge $50 a month now for SQL Server. [IMG]

Yes, I think we all know who it is, and we have been trying to put out the word that Express is extremely insecure on a shared server, but sometimes it takes a while for people to get it.

It makes it difficult for us not to offer something due to security concerns when other hosts do offer it. Makes it seem like they know something we don't know, when the opposite could be true. ;)
