  1. Beginner question. I am using a computer with vs 2010 ultimate installed and have created and uploaded a simple site. Now I would like to learn how to create a simple database online. Which sql add on should I order, 2008 or 2008r2? Should I be downloading sql management studio express after?

Any simple overview of the whole process would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi ExpressShipping,

Your choice of SQL databases really is something that is up to you. SQL 2008 R2 is the newer of the two versions you mentioned so there are some benefits just for the fact that Microsoft most-likely will support it for a longer period of time.

As for managing your SQL database, it is not required but we do allow customers to manage their SQL database using SQL Management Studio or SQL Management Studio Express is they choose. We have a knowledge base on using SQL Management Studio with SQL 2008 which you can view HERE

  3. Thanks Jmeeks.
