Password protection of root directory

    I'm trying to password protect the root directory (disallow anonymous access) of http://www.loansifter.com while in construction phase. I searched the knowledge base and it told me to update the web.config file, which I'm pretty sure I don't have direct access to. All of my updates seem to come at the control panel, and that option doesn't exist there. Any help?
