  1. Hi

I have transfered a large site here today and my htaccess files does not seem to work. It is as if they are not there. Is it possible to use htaccess here?

I tried to use the permission manager instead because I cannot have an wide open admin area. When I use the permission manager this is what happens:

    I created two users.

I wanted to block two folders on my site (and all of their subfolders of course). I set deny read and deny write for anonymous and then added read and write permission to my two newly created users.

Then I tried this and when I try to access one of the blocked folders I'm promped for a password. Ok passwords for my two users work fine. But when I'm in I am still beeing prompted for password for every file I visit in the folder. I dont want to log in all the time..when I'm in I'm in..

The other directory also prompts me for password but here the users passwords dont work at all. The only working password is the topadmin password (or whatever you call it :)

The topadmin password works fine but it is not enough for me. I need the functionality I'm describing. I hope this is possible and that I did something wrong (but I really cant see what that would be..since it is few and simple steps to use permission manager)

    Any ideas?

  2. And I forgot to say..

When I have successfully logged into one of my protected folders..then I cant reach any file inside that folder - nor outside, wich means I cannot access even pages that are ment to be open to everybody. Thats wierd - or?

And yes.. I have checked the permission manager to check that no msstake restrictions are added anywhere (that can be seen there anyway).
