Hi, I have set up a phpBB3 forum on a server not related to discountasp.net. On the e-mail settings I entered: SMTP Server Address: smtp.bana-consulting.pt SMTP server port: 25 Authentication method for SMTP: Login SMTP username: [email protected] SMTP password: ******** Every email sent always returns the following error: "Could not connect to smtp host : 111 : Connection refused" is there something wrong? thanks
No mail is returned. As soon as a user registers on the php forum, there is some php code that will try to send an e-mail using my discountasp.net mail server settings (smtp.bana-consulting.pt). The error is returned from the php itself and showed to the user. Altough i am not a php expert, i found out that the line of code returning the error is the one where php tries to connect to the email server
In the config for the WordPress plugin, make sure you have selected "Send all WordPress emails via SMTP" (in the Mailer section) and "No encryption" (in the Encryption section). If all that checks out, all I can see that would stop you is the password...
Now you really lost me... I did not install any plug in. Just phpBB3. Does wordpress came embebed? How do I check if it exists and how do I access the config page? thanks
