Private web site

I am new to this and am trying to have a web site that is private. I am using screwturn wiki for the site. I can set permissions in that but how do i stop any serach engines etc from browsing the site.

Hi,
If you watch news about Web activity you already know Google is impossible to defeat.
These are my best tips:
1) Make sure "Directory Browsing" is disabled in your Control Panel.
2) Create a robots.txt file and place it in the root of your site.
Make sure you have at least added this:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /
3) Consider using the two protected folders in your site that don't allow D/L's:
_database and App_data

Another thing you can do is add Membership but that may be more than you need.
