Problem with login controls

Discussion in 'ASP.NET 2.0' started by Piot, May 27, 2007.

  1. Anyone who got the login controls working on this site?

    web.config:
    <connectionStrings>
    <remove name='LocalSqlServer'/>
    <add name='LocalSqlServer' connectionString='Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|aspnetdb.mdf;'/>
    </connectionStrings>

    Also enabled membership control:
    <roleManager enabled='true' />
    <membership>
    <providers>
    <clear/>
    <add name='AspNetSqlMembershipProvider'
    type='System.Web.Security.SqlMembershipProvider, System.Web, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a'
    connectionStringName='LocalSqlServer'
    enablePasswordRetrieval='false'
    enablePasswordReset='true'
    requiresQuestionAndAnswer='true'
    requiresUniqueEmail='false'
    passwordFormat='Hashed'
    maxInvalidPasswordAttempts='5'
    minRequiredPasswordLength='7'
    minRequiredNonalphanumericCharacters='1'
    passwordAttemptWindow='10'
    passwordStrengthRegularExpression=''
    applicationName='/'
    />

    </providers>
    </membership>

    Please help me!

  2. The error is due to your connection string,since you are referring to the SQL express database which is not supported on DASP servers.
    See:http://kb.discountasp.net/article.aspx?id=10413 for correct configuation(replace DBServerName,DBName,DBLogin,DBPassword by appropriate values).

    Error cause:
    <add name='LocalSqlServer' connectionString='Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|aspnetdb.mdf;'/>
