  1. Hello Group

I've got a few apps running on SQL on Discount ASP, but have just built a little app with an ACCESS database backend which cansurvive with all the limitations that go with it.

Does anyone know of a (preferably free) web based editor that I can use to tweak the DATA in the database once its up on the server?

I've used "Genric DB" before and it was fine, but this database has multiple key fields which I think is a bit beyond Generic DB.

Any thoughts on this prob greatfuilly received.

  2. UTE is fantastic!

Had it up and running (at least locally) in a few minutes.

For anyone looking for a quick way to edit your databases online I can thorougly recommend it.

Thanks to wisemx for the tip.

  3. I'm still using UTE (but will try the one kindly recommended in the previous post) but have notice something when using it in IE7 that I was lucky enough to spot and realise what was going on - it could have taken me a lot, lot longer so this may be useful to someone out there.

Being in the U.K I have things setup for DD/MM/YYYY date entry and display within my apps. It seems that if I have UTE operating in an IE7tab, the dates within my apprunning in a completely separate TAB within the same IE7 browser instance starts exhibiting MM/DD/YYYY behaviour! I assume that UTE has no inherent date preference and will adopt the server default.

The moral of the story seems to be that if your app is setup and working with DD/MM/YYYY format dates, make sure thatyou don't have anything else running in any other IE7TABS as your application locale settings maygethijacked at a browser level.

I couldn't believe it but I could reproduce the bahaviour - I'd be interested to know if someone could verify this, though.
