Restoring a database using Management Studio Express

    Is it possible to restore a database from a backup file using Management Studio Express?
    I can connect to the server, and find the correct database, but when I select tasks, select From File, then Add File, I get an error 'The EXECUTE permission was denied on the object 'xp_fixeddrives' ....

    This would make it a lot easier than ftp'ing a file and restoring it from the web tools.

    No. It is not possible.


    Use the Control Panel SQL database restore tool instead.
