I have a web site hosted on discountasp with the standard MS SQL2005 database addon. I ran the aspnet_regiis.exe -i as instructed and added the <cennectionStrings> tags and the <membership> and <roleManager> tags. Everything worked great. I then hosted another web site on discountasp under a different account again with the standard MS SQ2005 database addon. Did everything as before (actually copied the relevant tags from the previous web.config to this) but now the roleManager doesn't work. To enable role management on this new site I have had to connect to the first database and add all the roles of the two sites on each web.config. Not ideal - not only that the new database is completely worthless to me. Is there a simple explanation for this - or even a way to resolve it?
