We have not tested this app but I reviewed the installation instruction and I see no reason why it wouldn't work on our server.

  2. I can't get Screwturn (see www.screwturn.eu ) working on a shared hosting plan of [host name removed by request]. I do not understand the problem (Screwturn works fine in my VPS).

Does anyone know if Screwturn works on DiscountAsp ?

    Thanks in advance,

FYI Joannes, I just installed ScrewTurn Wiki on a standard customer account, and it worked out of the box, with no adjustments other than using our web application tool to create a web application in the \screwturn directory. The whole process took five minutes. Much easier than installing MediaWiki on a unix server...

  5. Here is a link for a demo on DiscountASP servers :http://daspstaff00.web120.discountasp.net/public/

Initially, you will need to log in as admin and update the smtp server settings to 'localhost' (under Administration>Configuration>SMTP Server) else ScrewTurn will throw an error when you try to signup a new user, because it tries to send an email after the signup process and fails to connect to the default smtp server.

  6. I tried this exact same thing but it didn't work for me. I tried it with the same version that you were successful with, but it would not deploy. After copying the files, and following the directions for making the 'wiki' folder a web application, and browsing to mydomain.com/wiki, I get no response. When I check the log file that screwturn creates, I get this error (I cannot tell if it is a screwturn issue or ASP.NET config issue):

    E|2007/08/20 13:42:06|http://fakehost.com/wiki/Error.aspx..., Boolean& completedSynchronously)|SYSTEM

  7. Fixed it, but not sure why ...

Since the error message was complaining about not finding the 'Standard' theme, I found an 'App_Themes' folder with a 'Standard' folder under it in my root (this was put there by another web application - my default).

Anyway, I copied the entire App_Themes to the wiki folder, thinking that for some reason ScrewTurn was looking for it there. Sure enough, everything works now. [IMG]

Is this an issue with ScrewTurn, or my setup? I certaintly don't mind leaving it like this, but I wonder what is going on ...
