secure credit card processing

Discussion in 'ASP.NET 2.0' started by cragi, Apr 4, 2006.

  1. I'm running asp.net 2.0 and sql server 2k. It's been several years since I ran credit cards over the net. I need for the website to be able to accept credit cards and store them encrypted in the database for re-ordering purposes and automatic billing (not a strict requirement but preferred). The fees are set - $50, $100, or $200, and I'd like them to be seemless transactions (never leaving the site if possible).

I currently have no merchant account to process credit cards but want to start doing so..only necessary online, not at a retail location. Where should I begin? What is the most cost-effective way to do this while not sacrificing functionality? My biz is located in Appleton, WI.

You may want to consider using a third party transaction vendor like paypal.com.

  5. I really don't want to use paypal if i don't have to, since not everyone uses it. My customer base isn't necessarily the tech-savvy and is B2B.

  6. anyone try PC Charge Pro ($260) or Verisign Pro ($400)?
