Should I buy a domain name right away?

I have a web application that I want to put on DiscountASP. Eventually I want it to have its own domain name, but I'm not ready to do that just yet (we're still debating on what to call the website). But I want to get started with testing and debugging right now.

Would it be a major pain to buy the domain name after the website is set up? And until I buy a domain name and point it to my DiscountASP site, what would the web address look like? Something like www.discountasp.net/Gurduloo/ ?


Looks like I found the answer in the knowledge base. So I can go ahead and set up the web site here and then buy a domain name at some later time.

You can wait to buy a domain, as the KB you linked to points out, there are temporary FTP and URLs that you can use for testing.

If the domain name you want is available though, waiting could mean losing it.
