Hi Mark, Do you have any inside info on when RIA Services is likely to released as part of the mainstream Silverlight release? I've looked at what's possible with it and it looks good but I'm not keen to invest development time in something that can still have breaking changes and the company I work for agrees with this thinking too. Cheers, Joe
Hi, No, that team is pretty tight lipped but I do try to publish alerts ASAP. (I follow daily updates from Jesse L., Tim H. and several others on that team.) As for which parts of it will be published to DASP servers, we all get those announcements here in the top level forum. ;-) All the best, Mark
Good man, thanks for the quick reply. I'm looking forward to it when it comes. Coupled with the navigation framework it promises to offer a lot for LOB applications.
WCF Ria Services will be available on standard plans? hello The RIA Services team has just launched their new beta release during PDC 2009. We will launch a SL3 + RIA Services project in june 2010. Do you plan to support WCF Ria Services on your standard plans ? When ? Best regards, Littlesteps
I am curious about this too. I am very excited about the prospects of Silverlight 4 and WCF RIA Services. I want to know more (of course) and I'm sure there will be some changes, but Brad Adams mentioned that this release is good to go to develop apps. I'm sure some of you have heard it all before, but that is part of being on the bleeding edge... Sometimes you have to bleed a little.
...As for me, I'm not messing with VS2010 or SL4 just yet, maybe next week. I will as always offer tips as I dig into it. All the best, Mark
