SQL EXPRESS DB FILE

  1. Can you use a SQL SERVER EXPRESS db file without paying for the SQL server upgrade? This is a stand alone file that doesn't require install of actual SQL server.

    SQL express is designed to be used for development environment and there are many security / performance issues in a shared hosting environment.


    Scott Guthrie, the ASP.NET team leader, discussed this issue in his blog and he stated that hoster should NOT offer this feature because of security issue if shared among many users.
