SQL Server Management Studio - Shows all databases

    No. THere is no fix for this. MS created a patch for SQL 2000 to only show the DB you have right to about a year of so ago. Apparently, the same issue came back with SQL 2k5.

    However, this doesn't really pose a security issue. Why??

    1) Even with SQL 2k patch, what MS did was just tweaking a system stored proc. If you really know what you are doing, you can still use Transact SQL to list all the databases.

    2) You can see the database but you do not have right to access it.

  2. Hi,

    Fairly sure I posted about this last year but can't seem to find the post.

    Under SQL Server Management Studio I can see everybody elses databases.

    Is there a fix for this or do I need to re-install my old Sql Server Enterprise Manager again to not have to scroll through hundreds of databases?

    Not really that secure that you are allowing me to see other peoples database names or for them to see mine.
