SQL Server Profiling

  1. The new SQL Server Profiling service is a great addon I think, but a 2 minute run is not that much especially when you have not much traffic, so it will be a wild guess when to schedule.

    Although I understand a longer run on high traffic websites will result in large trace files. Is it not possible to run until the log file will hit a certain filesize?
    Also maybe its an idea to integrate this service in the control panel?

    I am interested in running such a service but not spend $15 dollar for a run that won't collect any data, or am I overlooking something/missing the point about this service?

    We do allow more than 2 minutes of trace for additional fee.

    The main reason why we keep the basic service for 2 minute is because of server load.

    Interesting suggestion. We'll consider it.

    If we see enough demand for this service, we'll consider putting the UI in the CP.
