  1. I recently upgraded to VS2008 and also SSRS2008. I had some SSRS2005 reports which I opened in VS2008, modified and tried to deploy to the DASP SSRS2008 report server.

The data source deploys correctly to the report server (which tells me the URL is correct) but when it tries to deploy the .rdl I fairly instanly get "The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send" error. In all my searches for solutions the only thing I have found is a suggestion to "Update the rsreportserver.config to a non-secure connection by setting the value from 2 to 0". I have no idea what that means.

    Can anyone help with this?

I think that the issue may be related to port 443 being blocked locally in your network. We are not seeing other customers experiencing the issue you are having. Try tuning off any antivirus/ firewall settings when testing

  3. This turned out to be a problem with some of my .rdl files. They were originally built on BIDS2005 in VS2005. According to everything I've read when you open a 2005 project in BIDS/VS2008 the files were automatically upgraded. Apparently not everything is compatible. I ended up deleting a few text boxes that had expressions in them and the files uploaded no problem.
