  1. I am getting a 401 error when I try and render a report using the SSRS 2008 Web services. I call the constructor for creating a ReportingService like this:

    var reportingService = new ReportExecutionService
    {
    Credentials = new NetworkCredential("my-user-name-here", "my-password-here", "rs2k501.discountasp.net"),
    Url = "https://rs2k501.discountasp.net/reportserver/ReportService2005.asmx"
    };

    followed by the code to setup and load the report and then the call to load the report, which is when it fails with the 401 error:

    reportingService.LoadReport(reportPath, HistoryId);

    I must not be setting the credentials correctly but I verified several times the user name and password provided to me when I purchased the add-on for SSRS.

    I have a similar issue with not authenticating when I try to auto-generate the client side proxy classes for the SSRS asmx Web services from with Visual Studio using the URL above. When VS prompts for the credentials I enter them and it fails to connect. So I am using the client side proxy classes that I am able to auto-generate using my laptops instance of Reporting Services.

    Clearly I am not providing the correct credentials but if they aren't the username and password provided when I purchased the SSRS add-on then which credentials are required?

    Thanks in advanced for any help!

  2. The resolution was to change the rs2k501 to rs2k801.

    It's always the small changes that cause the biggest issues. Glad to hear you got it all worked out though.
