Steps for Remote SQL Server Setup

Please, can you someone provide the step by step process to creating a database connection from Visual Web Developer 2005 to my DASP SQLServer 2005 so I can create my schema.

I also read in other questions using "asp_regsql.exe" for remote connection.please canthis be elaborated on.
